And the Game of the Year is…Grand Theft Auto V
Last night, Spike TV hosted one of the biggest events of the year for the gaming industry, the VGX Show. During the event, we got some wonderful surprises such as the partnership between Telltale Games and Gearbox Software in order to bring Tales from the Borderlands; or the partnership between Telltale Games and HBO for a Game of Thrones game.
Among all the surprises, the highly awaited award, the Game of the Year was announced, and as you might’ve guessed, it was Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V, leaving aside Naughty Dog’s masterpiece The Last of Us.
This year’s VGX was quite different than what we’re used to be, and so, the audience spoke up!
This is so awkward. McHale’s being an arsehole to every guest and getting in the way of Keighly’s shilling. #vgx

This whole thing is really weird without a live studio audience of some kind — the crew is just clapping in the background. #VGX

Could they have found a co-host for #VGX who isn’t in complete contempt of the entire catalog?

This whole thing is just awful. #VGX

- Gone Home – Best Independent Game
- Bioshock Infinite – Best Shooter

What do you think of these winners? Do you agree with the outcome? Did you like the VGX Show?
