Well today I thought I would take a look at the evil over good, opps mean good over evil. I guess what I’m saying is what’s your favorite good or evil? To me it all depends on the mood sometime it’s fun to be bad, but then again I think I’m a nice guy so I have to be nice sometimes.

Regardless of your feeling we’ll looking into both sides of the augment and try not to make too many conclusions. First up let’s look at the good side and then we’ll delve into the world of evil.

Good

Being good is what civilized society wants you to be, hell its practical rammed down our throats daily with poorly made cops shows being the mainstay genre of TV channels worldwide. Now calm down, I’m not saying don’t be good it was just an observation.

When I first started playing online games, for the most part you could only be the good guy, Hey the game was still fun. I enjoyed my time in those games there was a more open camaraderie between players, while fighting a common goal.

I have to admit I have played more good character roles and classes than on the other side.

Some of my favorite good guy classes and roles.

  1. Ranger (LOTRO, TERA)
  2. Paladin (World of Warcraft)
  3. Jedi Guardian (Star Wars the Old Republic)
  4. Knight (Linage 2)
  5. Priest/Purifier (TERA, Rift)
  6. Mario (Mario Bros)

Evil

Ever have bad thoughts? Yeah I’ll be the first to admit it I have them. I want to know why Rick didn’t put a bullet in the governor in the TV show “The Walking Dead” when he had the chance. As I and I’m sure thousands of people have said I wouldn’t have let him off that easy.

For me when I feel beat down being in real life then playing the side evil and dubious is fun as hell!

Why is that some games you can only play the good guy that’s BS. I want to an equal but fun alter ego slash evil side when I feel like being bad.

One example is when you’re a Sith in SWtOR your given a slave companion to help with your daily tasks, and you can send a shock to her collar anytime you just feel like it. The world is full of big meanies might as well be in the game world too. I also love the way they made you look more evil as you progressed in game too.

Some of my favorite bad guy classes and roles.

  1. Sith Marauder (Star Wars the Old Republic)
  2. Necromancer (Guild Wars 2,Rift, Ever Quest 2)
  3. Turan Assassin (Requiem: Memento Mori)
  4. Inconnu race (Dark Age of Camelot)
  5. Sarnak race (Ever Quest 2)
  6. The Defiant (Rift)

Conclusions

Regardless how you like to play at least the game companies have finally started to give us a choice of playing a good or evil. It is great to get to see a game from both sides and then you really get to see the inner working of the game.  So today I ask you what are you playing evil or the good side?

As a man I always try to be on good side but sometimes our mind becomes polluted by our living environment. However,I have to control my bad wishes down cause I don’t wanna harm any good man. That’s why my choice for good side not for bad or evil.I always hate evil.It is my promise that I will be always on good side not evil side.

I always play as the good guy. I don’t know why, but I simply can’t stand playing as someone who brings havoc to the world, even if it is only a virtual, imaginary world. I prefer doing good deeds.

Actually taking the side of good or evil depends on the mood sometime it’s fun to be bad. I take both good or evil side. I have no special choice about choosing side. I think good playing is every thing. So side choosing is not much more important.

No matter the genre, i am in 90% of cases on the “good” side. Of course, there are some exceptions. 🙂 For example, i like Orcs on Warcraft, and always choose them, no matter if i am playing online or at home (campaign or LAN match with my friends). I can say their race is my favorite when we talking about “evil” characters. About good ones, my favorite character is Barry Burton on Resident Evil series.

I really like playing on the side of good, like for example in the games series of Rayman, or for example Prince of Persia. But also I would like to see some unseen stuff, like for example, FPS, when you will be german soldier killing all that allies, or FPS where you are a taliban terorist in attack to Unated States 🙂

I really love playing games and the truth is that all the time i would like to be on the evil side. It makes it more fun and i am not that kind of person that i want always the happy end. I like that difference. I totally agree about Turan Assassin (Requiem: Memento Mori)cause it`s my favorite bad character. Finally i would like to thank you about this site it`s really amazing and i discovered so many things.

First of all, let me say that this is the first blog which i read about such subjects which are interesting for all. Games make us children again and we spend time, as far as possible playing games. Role playing is very much interesting and as you have written in such an organized manner, both the roles make us spend long hours before the computer or gaming console. Good roles makes us calm and relaxed while the bad roles leaves us engaged for long time solving the problems faced by us.

    Thanks for the topic…
