Today’s question revolves around role-playing in-game. Role-playing is and can play a big part in MMORPG’s today, although I having done very little or none to speak of.
I have friends that can stay in character most of the day even outside of the game that they actually role-play in.
No matter what happens they stay in character and they are constantly honing their skills as they go about their daily lives. For me sometimes it gets old, but even still it is funny as hell to see what’s coming out of their mouths next.
The Story Teller
One friend of mine who I’ll name as the story-teller can spin yarns as fast as a whip. He will spend most evenings entertaining people in the pub and taverns of these games, along with adding to his collection of stories as he quests around the landscape of the digital world. He is a master of socializing with other people and getting them to join into his storytelling.
This is the type of role-playing you would expect from an experienced bard in-game.
Whether you’re new to gaming or an old-timer, role-playing brings a little bit of character to a game and add some personal touches to how you interact with the people in-game. This is something that is either a love or hate subject. The way I look at it is if this makes you happy or you really like taking the role of your character then please do your not hurting anyone. This is some thing that I really never got into but I might try it more in the future.
So today I ask you, do you role-play in-game?
