The five games I’m playing right now!

I get asked so much what I like to play, so I decided that I would start writing an article once a month to show what I’m playing. For the most part these are game I enjoy or got roped into playing with friends, regardless here is what I’m playing right now in no particular order.

WarThunder3 WarThunder4

War Thunder

War thunder is a great game for the airplane fanatic and for people that time constraints to their gaming you can jump in for a quick battle or two. You can dedicate as much or as little time as you want to.

This game features arcade air combat that can played without a joystick, mouse and keyboard work fine. War thunder lets you fly all the great planes from theWW1 to WW2 era, these planes can be upgraded with new parts along with training of your crews for better overall aircraft.

The best thing about War Thunder is the ability to jump very quick battles to jump into anytime day or night.

ShadowrunShadowrun2

Shadowrun Returns

Shadowrun Return is a turn based RPG and strategy game that is based on the old classic Shadowrun. This game has an amazing storyline and is just a great game to play.

As you are investigating a murder of a friend you meet a lot of colorful characters as you explore the world of Shadowrun and the will ultimately to solve who murdered your friend.

Shadowrun mixes the best of the fantasy genre with that of a sci-fi to blend together a story and world like no other.

CubeWorld

CubeWorld

Cube world is like Legend of Zelda was melded with Minecraft. This fantasy based game is still rough around the edges still being in Alpha but is and amazing world to explore with limitless 100% random terrains.

Cube has and in-depth crafting system along with skill trees to make your characters stronger as you level up.

RogueLegacyRogueLegacy2

Rogue Legacy

Rogue Legacy is an Indie old school side scrolling. Rogue Legacy has 8 classes to pick from and skill trees for each to make you character better and you play.

You will die a lot in this game, but it give you a chance to think thing out for the next time. If you enjoy side scrollers this is a good one.

Nascar the Game 2013

If you a gearhead, motor head, or just like racing here’s the latest stock-car racing game. Its arcade based and it’s not perfect, but a lot of fun. I recently reviewed Nascar the Game 2013 and you can find my review HERE.

Nascar the Game 2013 feature all the drivers and tracks from the 2012 season, so you will be able to compete for the championship with your favorite driver, or online with your friends.

So that what I’m playing now. I try out way too many games but these are the ones that have stuck with me the last couple weeks. I would love to hear what you the viewers are playing.

So today I ask you, what games are you playing?

    1. Shin Megami Tensei IV
    2. Monster Hunter 3
    3. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Also the FFXIV:ARR open beta starts on the 16th, so I’m still messing around with the character creator for that…

I played Shin Mega Tensei Online for one of my first reviews I did online, that was a while for another site. Which sadly if I remember right the site folded and I never got paid for it, lol.
When I lived in Japan people went crazy for the monster hunter series.

Hi. I stopped playing games because I loved
the real down-and-out FPS battles so much that
days would go by, and I didn’t get much done.

    I LOVE the Halo-themed realms.

If I could get Castle Wolfenstein to play, I’d probably play that just for grins.

Years ago. I used to “review” games on GEnie, which stood for the General Electric national information exchange. I was on the staff of a PC news magazine, and I often reviewed games on there. I reviewed Castle Wolfeinstein.

A big help in reviewing Castle Wolfenstein — the PD version with the Nazis — was that my girlfriend’s son Kip was living with us, and I said to him, “Kip. You’ve GOT to play this new game I downloaded.” Kip was a bit hesitant, but he was a fun kid (young adult) and very, VERY witty and funny), and he played the entire game through in an evening! He made the review process much easier. I actually love PC games…that’s the trouble.

I am not THAT much of a Gamehead, though, so what’s a FANTASTIC space/Halo themed FPS shooter that has really good sci-fi themes in it? I’ve been taking a look at that game — the really nice one with the futuristic cities with the transportation system that you hitch rides on…I think I’d like that. But other than that one (I hesitate to get into that style of game, as much as I loved Halo) does anyone have anything really nice they could recommend?

Mark thanks for commenting. GEnie that was a few years ago.
Castle Wolfenstein was one of my favorite game back then, I just got the iPhone version, brought back some memories and a lot of laughs.

As far as a FPS Sci-Fi based the best that I can think of are similar to Halo are Planetside 2 or FireFall both are free to play games so they don’t require anything but time to download to get started.

    Hopefully that helps out.
    Chris
