The Guild Bank.
You might ask why I am talking about something that is nothing more than a storage place for your guild items. Well from my experience I have seen enough arguments and full out fights that can take you to the verge of losing control of your guild and starting the masses to leave.
As the guild leader you need to be on top of your guild or put someone you can trust to make sure it is run properly. Believe me when I say more guild arguments have started at the guild bank than any other place in game.
The Guild Bank
The guild bank is your groups most prized possessions, this where you put everything you guild has worked hard to gain, until it is needed or divvied up. This will hold a lot of cool stuff, rare crafting materials, rare weapons won in battle, newbie starter kits, cash, and anything else that has a value. The guild leader and your officers need to police the use of this great tool, making sure it is properly used and not abused.
This can be one of the hardest jobs in a guild, but this has to be done fairly so that people get what they need and more importantly what they can use. Hand me down weapons and armor can really help your guild mates. So at the same time you need make so that some items are going in and not all going out.
I recommend that you delegate to a guild officer take control of all distribution of guild loot and items, so that it isn’t abused. Like I said before this person must be very trustworthy.
Also some sort of request system should be put in place so that a member can request items from the bank, a reason should be given with the request on how items will be used.
You should allow all senior officers to be able to remove items from the guild bank to alleviate a back log on bank requests, but overall the bank officer will keep a log of all item and who used what.
The Highs and Lows of a Guild Bank
The guild bank if used properly can help your new people get a better foothold in game, along with dividing the profits of your group battles to people deserving their bounty.
I hope this doesn’t happen to you, but it might. The first time you see your guild bank empty all your hard earn items and were just got thrown out the window, you will have wished you listened to me here. That’s part of the challenges of being a guild leader, but you learn as time goes on.
Always make sure that the people that have access to your stuff are trusting and that is why we have a bank officer to limit the damages that can be to your guild bank.
