Guild Leader

What goes on a Guild Website?

One job of the guild leader and I can never stress this enough, your guild will need a website! This will let members see the guild rules and latest news.  This is very important to make everything run smoother and it is a great way to interact with other members of the guild outside of the game.

A guild website will keep you organized and your member will be happy to see what is going on at any given time. This not only make things smoother but also makes for a happier guild environment when everyone know what’s going on. Setting up a website is the responsibility of the guild leader, but please delegate when needed.

So let’s get to it here’s what I recommend on a guild website. Now these are bare minimums but these items should always have a home on your site.

Guild Name: Self-explanatory.

Guild Banner: (If you have a banner) I would place this right under you guild name or in place of your name. If there is an artist in your group that will make this much easier, if not spend five bucks on an artist on fiverr.com to make one for your guild.

Charter: Have a page dedicated to your charter, this is the most important document you have for you guild so make sure this is out there for everyone to see. You should leave room for amendments.

Roster: List out your roster from the guild leader to the bottom. Some like to break the list in two having a list for officers and a list of the rest of the member. It doesn’t really matter either way.

Guild/Game News: Have a page dedicated to news and anything that might be interesting for members. (Changes to game, promotions, and guild events, guild leader notes and news)

Calendar of Events: upcoming events and if help is needed for any of them.

Forum: You should have a forum for discussing anything and everything related to games and the guild available to members and members alone.

Place for all guild voting: Voting for your members is important, to make sure the guild as a whole has a say on how business that needs to be taken care of.

Now as you website grows you will have a lot more items on it but this is just the recommended basics and this will get you going.

When it comes to websites a lot of people don’t want to pay money for a website. I understand. I would recommend a guild pool for donations to pay for a site name and hosting.

If you don’t want any out of pocket expense you could always try one of the free guild hosting places online. I recommended guild web host Guildportal.com They have more than enough features to get you up running fast and later on you can pay for a site name and go premium.

Here’s the basic guild website that I set up for this article using Guildportal.com Check it out Here
