The Naked Gamer!

NakedGamer

Yes that title is a bit misleading! Recently I had had some computer problems, had to reinstall windows after a bout of trying to save what I had without going that route. But, the battle was lost, oh well I can get a fresh start out of this. That’s a good thing.

Thankfully I have a laptop to fall back on when something like this happens, although it isn’t the same as my desktop.

So after reinstall I have now found the problem is a bad BIOS chip. So I ordered one today and now the wait begins. I won’t go into all the details and a lot of boring troubleshooting to find this problem, but that is the problem.

So anyway that gets me to where I am now, I have the feeling like when you realize after taking a shower that there are no towels to dry off with. Today I am the naked gamer not because I don’t have any clothes on, because I don’t have a real computer to play games with.

Its times like this that I wished I would have spent a little more money on my laptop than I did, but I couldn’t justify the extra cost for the little use that this normally gets.

It’s a funny feeling to feel naked without a gaming rig at my side, but that’s how I feel today. I guess I have time to do something around the house. I could always spend a more time with the family! Oh I really want my computer back!

Nothing sucks more than a computer problem that is easily fixable and just have to wait on parts. Oh well I’ll just have to put my big boy pants on and suck it up until I get my parts.

So until I get my parts and my rig back up and running I will be the naked gamer!

Yeah it is a very unusual feeling but the advantage of current generation laptops is that they are embedding some pretty medium to high end hardware that can help cover some of the gaps in situations like these.

It’s not so bad. I have a gaming laptop, and it’s an abomination of fan noise and heat. An abomination I love and cherish, but a thing-that-should-not-be nonetheless.

Maybe it’s time to try some lo-fi indie games?

Lol, We do love or machines. I am in the process of writing up some indie stuff, even before this happened. I love supporting the little guys.
So maybe later this week I can have them done.

Thanks for the comment Amy! I really enjoy your site can I ad a link to the partners page.

I agree with Amy, indie games are a treat in such situations. I recently started playing terraria and that game totally owns. Other indie games I recommend include To the Moon and Limbo if you haven’t tried those yet.
