 Top 6 free iPhone games.

15 September 2013

I don’t talk much about iPhone gaming which is funny because, I play a lot of iPhone games. So after a few emails from people asking I decided this would be a good time to make a list of games I like to play on my iPhone.

So here’s our Top 6 free iPhone games the list in no particular order, just great iPhone games that you should try out.

Real Racing 3

This one was very easy to put on our “Top 6 free iPhone games” this has been my addiction since it came out, I play it at least once a day and it is well worth the download. Has amazing graphics that you would think would need a console or PC to run.

Game features real cars, real tracks, and many special events occur weekly (this week was the 50 years of Porsche). Cars need to be repaired over time and can be upgraded with better parts. Downside is that if you play the game for free you have to wait for cars to get repaired, but that is fine with me so I don’t game too much.

Frontline Commando: D-Day

Here is another game that looks like it should be on console or PC. In Frontline Commando: D-Day you have to storm the beaches in the historic allied invasion of Normandy. This has levels for each of the battles of the invasion from fighting in trenches to in town squares.

If you a fan of FPS game then this might be what you looking for in-game.

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol is a great turn based strategy game based on the air battles over Europe in World War one. You control aircraft from the nation of your choosing and battle it out in the skies. As you progress you have the opportunity to upgrade your aircraft and improve your piloting skills.

This game is very well done and put together in a way that make it unique compared to all the other game available for phones.

Hero Academy

Hero academy is basically a digital board game that pits you against another player as you each try to destroy a crystal ball that is placed on your opponent’s side of the board. You will need to deploy your forces to block opponent’s route to the crystal ball.

Hero Academy is turned based just like a board game so play times will vary based on who you playing. You will have a lot of fun battling with friend this game even features an in-game chat window, so you can rub it in when you winning.

Temple Run 2

Or as I refer to it is “the endless running game”. Temple Run 2 is now set in a new location and scenery. There are the same obstacles you will encounter just like the old game with power-ups galore.

You might ask what is he running from, well that is a giant monkey, lol.

Punch Quest

Punch Quest is and arcade style fighting game that lets to tap on the screen rather than mashing buttons to fight your opponents. I normally do not like these type of games but this one hooked me in and play almost daily.

Top 6 free iPhone games Honorable Mentions:

Into the dead Yeah I know another zombie game, but this has great graphics and well worth a look if you not sick of zombies yet.

Shadowgun: Deadzone this is a great looking first person tactical shoot, that feature death matches and zone control games of up 12 players in multiplayer battles.

Well that does it, for our Top 6 free iPhone games.

Nice list. There’s lots of good games to play on the ipad/iphone. Some of my faves include Deathsmiles, Storm the Train, Witch Wars and The Walking Dead.

Since I’ve become a curmudgeonly old man I’ve found my gaming skills have diminished considerably. The iPhone and iPad have kept the sickly dog that is my gaming in the hunt. Barely. I enjoy the games that take advantage of the touch interface. Most recently:

    1. Giant Boulder of Death
    2. Plants vs. Zombies 2
    3. Fieldrunners

Generally they’re not all that challenging, but they keep me from yelling like a maniac at those damned kids playing in my yard.
