U.K Chart: FIFA14 takes No.1 Spot

Last week, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 annihilated the competition, claiming the top of the U.K Chart, by getting over 90% of the total sales amongst the top 10 games. This didn’t last long though, as FIFA14 took the top spot, even with it having 24% less sales on its launch week than its predecessor FIFA13.

This week, the top 10 games are:

  1. FIFA 14
  2. Grand Theft Auto 5
  3. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
  4. PES 2014:
  5. The Last of Us:
  6. Disney Infinity
  7. Splinter Cell: Blacklist
  8. Saints Row 4
  9. Diablo 3
  10. Rayman Legends

According to experts, the drop of this 24% might be due to the huge amount of money gamers spent on GTA V, as well as the fact that some others are saving up for the next-gen version of the game.

You can never underestimate the appeal of footy. Knocking GTA off the top spot isn’t easy, but EA manage it just by churning out a yearly FIFA game which normally isn’t all that different to the last release.

Definitely, yet, personally, I was pretty shocked to see this happening, FIFA14 taking GTAV out of the top spot? It is almost unbelievable, yet again, these are the sort of surprises we get in the gaming world
