Whale’s Tale Pale Ale
By Cisco Brewers Inc.
I have been on a pale ale kick lately, not really sure why that is? So hers another one for the growing list that I have tried recently. What I really like about pale ales is you pretty much pair these with just about any food or occasion.
Whale’s Tale Pale Ale pour golden amber to a copper/amber with a lot of carbonation bubbles running up and down the side of the glass. The head is very small that dissipates very quickly to almost nonexistence.
Whale’s Tale Pale Ale smells of a fragrant yeasty, malty, and with the hops coming in the later stages with a citrus to a pine note. The smell is mild with nothing over powering the others.
The initial taste is somewhat sour then you get a dose of the malt and hops and with you get a somewhat dry taste to almost a bitter after taste. The beer is smooth with very little carbonation at taste. As you drink more the taste get more and more grainy/malty with a mild taste of hoppyness.
Overall Whale’s Tale Pale Ale is a good clean drinking beer, but it isn’t going to break any records. This is mid-level beer at its best but well worth the price of admission. I can’t say they there is anything wrong with Whale’s Tail Pale Ale, but as for imagination to the flavor it has none, it is exactly as expected which isn’t bad. This just needs something to make it stand out from the rest.
