Xbox One vs PlayStation 4: Controllers War

Ever since the announcement of the next-gen consoles, Microsoft and Sony have been going through a give-and-take campaign, where one takes advantage of the mistakes from its rival, and the other trying to fix its mistakes in order to come back to the battle.

This time, both companies are bringing us some news regarding the capability to connect controllers to each console.

Firstly, Microsoft came by to let us all know that you can connect up to eight (8) wireless controllers at once to the Xbox One, this was confirmed through an update on the Xbox One’s product page; where it is also mentioned that Xbox One controllers have a 30 foot wireless range.

With this information in mind, users asked Sony Worldwide President Shuhei Yoshida about the PlayStation 4 details, to which Yoshida simply replied “4” through his Twitter account.

This seems to be one lost battle for Sony, yet, if we go back in time, the score is still in its favor…what do you think?

I personally don´t think that this new is a “game changer” for Microsoft vs Sony, i haven´t been playing anything with more than 4 players since the SNES and PSone times. Greetings and i like your site!!

I do believe the same, I certainly don’t see a game that requires 8 players in a single room to play, even now most games don’t even have a “multiplayer” -offline- option anymore as they are all focusing on online game (something that I disagree with) but we’ll have to wait to see how, or better said “what for” would one use 8 controllers in the same console
